Today's Topic: Should you break up with the BF because of his parents?
Yesterday I got an email from "Anonymous" in Cypress and she was stuck in bind. She asked me:
"I've been with my boyfriend for 11 months and can't seem to get along with his parents. They just don't like me? It's like they think that their son should be with someone else. Like I'm not good enough for him. Should I break up with him because of his parents?"
Eeeeeeek, that is a tough one. Here's the deal, if you are considering ending your relationship with your man because his mom gives you dirty looks, that's lame! In the long run you're not dating his parents, you're dating him and the love you have for each other should be strong enough to surpass the negative energy you may be feeling from his folks. I'm not saying you should start making T-Shirts that say "Team Girlfriend" and "Team Parents", but try to look at the situation in a mature manner and really think about how much you love him. I would say talk to your significant other about how you feel and take baby steps in trying to build a great relationship with his mom and dad. I'm sure once they realize you ain't goin' anywhere, they will be more open minded to letting you into the family.
Well, survived flying 5800 miles, 6 time zone changes, customs, 30 degree increase in temps in 10 hrs, one week stay in a hotel, a crashed and rebuilt laptop, moving entire household into a new house, phone/cable hookup, unpacking, moving furniture around, washing everything, new appliances hooked up, build new patio furniture, trying to save the lawn and greenery from the heat, run upto Atlanta to pickup car from overseas.
Did this in a 3 week and two day period. I am now officially moved in.
Lately things are going so good. I couldnt ask god for anything more in my life. Today im at work just chilling. Busy as usual but its a good day. Can wait for the weekend. Time to relax. Nothing planned. Just going to stay at home and chill.
Londoner432, as a respectable soldier in War II, mentioned about those war days in India.
While many put china and India as a pair for comparison, in War II, China's army, equipped with USA/UK weapons, helped UK/US army to protect India from Japan's attack, and wiped Japanese army out of Southeast-Asia.
Most soldiers in the frontline of battlefields should know this history, I guess.
A very funny thing is, Chinese culture was largely a branck of India's Buddahism culture. In ancient time, Chinese thought Indians were their Gods (Buddha) living in their western. Indians were to China in ancient time as Americans to China today.
You know i was sitting back and thinking about my life, all the ups and downs all the hardass potholes i've hit along the way. Sometimes you hit a hole so hard that you think there is no way out all you see is darkness and its hard to breath. As you feel like you are taking one of your last breaths , a ray of Sunshine slowly appears, dim at first as from a very long distance, or maybe just coming ever so slowly so one can adjust to the brightness, but with time care and love the sunshine slowly becoming brighter and brighter, til you have an Angel standing before you. They stay beside you not worrying about the strain it may have apon them, but they stay with you and when you are ready they take you by the hand and walk with you wherever or however far it may be, but they are always beside you. Love is unconditional, to find Love is to find the greatest treasure in the world.
(((SIgh))) just my thoughts for the day, hope everyone is happy, healthy and has a Blessed day!
Just a few remarks about my one visit to ole' England. I really enjoyed it. It didn't rain much when I was there and the landscape was beautiful. Most of the English I met were friendly. I did have some experience with what you call "yobs." It was unpleasant. The Queen was unable to see me, so I had to forgo tea with her. Maybe next time.
The churches were beautiful. I visited the Cathedrals and churches in Wells, Ely, St. Pauls, Westminister, Westminister Abbey, Bath, Durham, York, and of course Canterbury. I prayed for the return of England to Catholicism. I guess I should have included some of the Catholic bishops in that prayer lol. Unfortunately I missed Walshingham. I really wanted to go there. I have a very nice statute of OL of Walsingham in my rectory (no I do not "worship" it). In addition I did go to Speakers Corner. It was a blast. A lot of fun.
I also visited HMS Victory in Portsmouth. I am a fan of the O'Brian novels and of course the Hornblower ones. Fortunately the Royal Navy has given up pressing Americans, so I did get off the ship.
I made it to Edinbourgh and prayed at High Kirk. I even visited Knox's grave in the parking lot and prayed for his benighted soul. Also I prayed in the chapel of St. Margaret of Scotland up in the Castle.
I plan to go back since there was a lot that I didn't get to see. It was interesting to see where my ancestors came from. The Catholic Church there has many of the problems we have over here. But we have gotten some good bishops and things have been improving in most places. The younger priests and seminarians are wonderful. Despite all of our problems and scandals the Church remains strong. When the Pope came to visit us the crowds were huge and it was very positive.
Please pray for the Church and vocations so that England will truly be Mary's Dowry again.
I've suffered from it since May last year, at least that's when I first noticed that my symptoms were getting worse. That's when MyT started.
Now the Training and Skills Council have defined it as ‘faffing'. It's the whiling away your time doing anything than the job in hand.
I saw a piece about it last night in our local evening paper, The Star in Sheffield. I say ‘evening paper' loosely as it is available in our newsagent and supermarkets from around 10am. In fact it is a waste of time, last week when 53 post officers were announced for closure at a 10am press conference and they could not report until the following day , but... you see, I am digressing.
I felt sure someone would have covered the topic on My T and I started to look for it. I ended up looking once more at the ‘Jeremy Clarkson for PM' video, Maggies article and video on Children in Need, and well, I never got to find one.
When I am working on photos, camera club correspondence etc I frequently pause for coffee, might read a little of the paper, check for e-mails and I've lost an hour.
I start with good intentions, no break until I've done this, or that. Then an up-date comes down, the screen has changed and what was that message, another hour gone.
Two things last year made it worse. My Telegraph and getting a lap-top.
Now I can be working on the desktop computer while the laptop is connected to the internet. I'll just check who is online. Never seen that person before, that's an interesting item. Oh, I have a point to contribute to that, hit and run, or hit and stagger, I've lost another hour, oh it's now lunch and I've typed two paragraphs.
On our local radio station, BBC Radio Sheffield they had a piece about what we would like to be an Olympic sport. My suggestion is 'Faffing', that's one gold medal for Team GB in 2012.
Is coming out with a new CD?? Yup. Mitch Hedberg's new CD Do You Believe in Gosh will be posthumously released September 9th on Comedy Central Records. This guy was one of the funniest comedians around. He died of a drug overdose in March of 2005.
